Another parcel!

Oh I just love it when parcels arrive!  Although I am supposed to be having a bit of a de-stash and using what I already have!! Supposed to be...   Clearly that's not going to plan.  Although maybe things could be worse!

Now it would just be nice to get some time to play!   Busy weekend though!

More Copics!

Whoop! The postman's been.  I'm building up my collection of copics and these arrived today!

This takes my collection up to around 70 I think.. I need to update my colour chart.  Time to play!!

Especially for you!

Hello! Oh I am so glad it's Friday! And it's a long weekend!

I'm in love with Polkadoodles at the moment. The Winnie digi stamps are gorgeous!  And I'm waiting on an order of all four of the very lovely and creative "Stamp Soup" sets.  I just could not resist!

My card for today is a Winnie coloured with Copics. I'm using up papers I've had for a while.  I taken the inspiration for colouring her from the papers. To be honest, that's what I usually do.  One reason is I just love (to the point of obsession) paper of all descriptions, and the other reason is it's much easier to get a match when you colour (and you let the paper designer do all the hard work finding good colour combos!)

The greeting is from Fabulous Fushias by Clearly Besotted.

Here she is.. a simple card. Not too OTT on embellishments!

I'm going to enter this card in the following challenges:

Hope you enjoy your weekend!

What a lovely surprise!

Not the fact we woke up to a white snow covered garden (we are nearly in May!!)... no, it was a lovely surprise to wake up to find my card was chosen as a DT favourite over at Inspiration Destination!  Chuffed to bits!!

I'm in a crafty mood now!  What to do??

For You

Hello Tuesday!  Well, talk about four seasons in one day!  We have had sun, wind, snow, rain, sleet and hail!  Scotland.. just another day :-)

Been a busy day at work but I've spent the last 20 minutes assembling a card I prepped yesterday. I had great fun colouring the Polkadoodles digi.  Purple hair.. different for me!  It's not as light as I would like it to be so more practice required.

The greeting is "Scripty For You" by Lawn Fawn.  The papers are DCWV.

I'm going to enter this card in the following challenges:

Girl with a Bob

Hello Monday! It's a cold and wet day here.  And I'm trying to multi-task between some work, chores to do around the house, and craft.  Never a good combination.  Where does time go?

I've been playing with some new digis from Polkadoodles.  This cute little girl is from Winnie Sugar Sprinkles - Springtime.  I've coloured her with Copics and teamed up with some Basic Grey papers (Urban Prairie) which I've had for ages!  The sentiment is Stampin' Up! from the Sale-A-Bration "Hello" set.

I'm going to enter this card in the following challenges:

Petal Lu (#12)

Now I'm off to watch for the postman.. a new order which includes new Copics! Hope they come today!

Take Time To Smell The Flowers

Hello!  A very busy weekend for me, unfortunately most of it working.  But I have managed some spare crafty time today and I've been playing with the acrylic paints and the old credit card again!   This time I've opted for some JOFY stamps from PaperArtsy.  A little bit of paper piecing and some Tim Holtz Distress Markers to add the final touches.    I'm really loving the green chalk acrylic called "Granny Smith".

So something a wee  bit different from my last few makes..

I'm going to enter this card in the following challenges:

Brown Sugar (#195)

Now it's time to enjoy the rest of the weekend!  Relaxing!

New Shoes!

Hello! It's the weekend again!
It's been a lovely week here. Cold clear mornings and warm sunny afternoons!
So a bright and cheery card is the order of the day!

Another lovely image from Polkadoodles.  I've coloured her with Copics and used some co-ordinating papers from Penny Black Painted Blooms.
Used a Stampin' Up! greeting and punches to finish this off.

I'm going to enter this card in the following challenges:

You can never have too many...

....different colours of acrylics!    The postie's been!

I have lots of acrylic paints but none like these!   These are chalk acrylics, and I can't wait to play!  (will have to wait for now though!)

You're the best!

Hello!  A bright and sunny day today.  And quiet.. as one member of the family is off to school camp!

I've been playing with another image from Polkadoodles.  Again, such fun to colour! I've gone for a change in hair colour and chosen shades to give an overall auburn look.  Kept the embellishments simple.

Thinking of You

Hello!

A cold start here.. changing to almost tropical (for Scotland in April!) when I left work to drive home.

I was inspired by this sudden change in temperature to think that maybe spring was officially here! So I've gone for bright spring-like colours and a handmade flower.

I'm going to enter this card in the following challenges:

Hope you enjoy the rest of your week!

So much fun with an old bank card!

Hello Monday again!

What a busy weekend it's been but I did get a little time to play yesterday and I've finished off this morning by making two cards. Both using the same technique which I found on the amazing Kim Dellow's blog here.  The faux printed look.  It's just such amazing fun!  All you need are some acrylic paints and an old piece of plastic (like an old bank card or something similar).

My first attempt is really just a copy of Kims but with the addition of some white in the dots using a uni-ball Signo white pigment ink pen.
Here it is..

It's an addictive technique and so quick.. so needless to say the paint kept flowing and this is my second attempt.  I used the Paperartsy Eclectica (EKD02) by Kim for this second card.

I think I may try some more.. the colour combos are endless!

I'm going to enter this card in the following challenges:

A simple make!

Hello!

I hope you are having a lovely weekend!   Mine has been very busy, lots of crafty chat but not much crafty doing!!

Yesterday was our craft club outing.  We had a lovely day over in Fife, lunch out then some shopping.   I managed to restrict my buying to some new acrylic paints which I'm hoping to play with later.  Lots of lovely bright colours!

My card for now is using a Bugaboo digi which I've coloured with Copics and Polychromos.  I just love the shading you can get with the Polychromos.. so much fun to use.

I'm going to enter this card in the following challenges:

Foxy!

Hi!  New toys to play with today!

I found this cute little foxy digi at Studio Magda Polakow.  Great fun to colour! I used Promarkers. Kept the colours simple and used the Basic Grey Archaic paper suite to get my inspiration. This is an old set of papers - I've had them for ages!  Just found them again after an almost-ruthless clear out!
Needless to say I was not going to get rid of them! Just sad I can't get more!

Teamed up the image and papers with a Stampin' Up" sentiment from "Perfect Pennants" and used a QK alpha for the "FOXY!" It's an old alphabet called Moxie.  I would NEVER part with it as I love the font and size. It's timeless.

I needed something to lift the sentiment so I used one of the scribble dies from Tim Holtz "scribbles and splats" (another MUST have!!)

I really think the quality and variety of products in the papercrafters marketplace is just amazing at the moment!  I hope (but not for my bank account!!) that it keeps going!

So here it is...

You Are The Apple Of My Eye

Hi!  I hope you are having a lovely week! Mine has been a little short on crafty time so I'm really looking forward to a crafty girls road trip this weekend!  I'll just have to try and resist the temptation of buying too much! (yeah, that will work!)

Making the most of my limited time I have been playing with one of the new sets I got from Clearly Besotted, which comes with a matching die (seems to be the way now! Not that I'm complaining as I HATE to cut things!!)

This is one of the sets I got recently (so more new toys to play with when I get some time!!).  It's called "An Apple a Day" and it has a partner apple die (which fits perfectly!)

Here it is.. click on the pic to go to the Clearly Besotted store..

http://www.clearlybesottedstamps.com/products/an-apple-a-day

And here is my card.. I started by stamping a background using "Off the Grid" by Stampin' Up! using Tim Holtz Distress Ink "Tea Dye".  The apples are stamped using Adirondack "Red Pepper" and "Lettuce".  I hope you like it!

A Little Birdie Told Me

Hello! Here we are, half way through another week! It's miserable weather here.. rain, rain and more rain.
But I'm not about to lose sight of spring having nearly sprung!  (or the new technique of inlaid die cuts!)  Here's a second attempt using this Sizzix Thinlits "Sweetie Bird" (for Craft Asylum) and some very old QK dies for the flowers and grass.  The sentiment is from Tim Holtz (if you don't have "Crazy Talk" it really is a must have!!)

Practising with the Polychromos

Spring in the air

Hello! Well, it looks like spring is here so I took my inspiration and decided to go with some fresh pinks and greens. Then I went outside... brrr!!

I've really enjoyed colouring this little image from Bugaboo.  She's so cute!

The papers are My Private Happiness by Karola Witczak for The ScrapCake.  I've embellished with Petal Lu flowers (they are so delicate!) and come Swarovski Crystals, Lace and Sequins.  I used the Stampin' Up! Bigz Top Note to cut the layered background paper.

Inlaid Diecuts

Why is it that sometimes a technique is so obvious that you just don't see it!?

I saw this technique used in the current challenge at Addicted to CAS and thought I would give it a try!

I've used a Memory Box die (Fresh Foliage) and a greeting from WPlus9 (Doodle Buds) and just some patterned paper I had in my scrap box.  I'm pleased with the simplicity of the result.

Feeling Foxy?

Hello! Hope you're having a lovely weekend!
It's a lazy day here... the cats are sleeping, the house smells of baking (carrot cake so far!), and a Sunday roast is planned for later.  I just love Sunday's like this!

So, some time for me to play with a new die set which arrived during the week. It's a Sizzix Thinlits Fold-a-long by Jen Long.  A combination of 6 dies to make a lovely little Fox card.  My first attempt was a bit fiddly but the second was much easier (and quicker!) as I did things in a logical order!

Here's a link to the Sizzix video tutorial for the card.

And here's the (professional) finished result...

Here are my two attempts!

Good fun! I just need to work out what to do to embellish these further!

Monsterific!

Hello!  I hope you are having a lovely week!  I'm back at work now so less crafty time but I'm going to try and be as productive as I can be (in and out of work!).

I have a few cards to make for family so I need to write myself a wee list I think!   But before I started with what I have to do I've made this little monster card. The real fun was colouring this image!

I didn't even attempt to co-ordinate colours.. monsters just wouldn't care!

The die cut Happy Birthday is a Paper Smooches die.. fiddly!

I'm going to enter this card in the following challenges:

Stampin Royalty (SR#324)

Eclectica

Hello!

It's a lovely day here, a bit cold but that's what you expect!

I've been playing with a combination of the two Paperartsy Eclectica sets by Kim Dellow.  Just keeping it really simple.  These are lovely sets to work with. I've just coloured these with Copics.  I stamped on Stampin' Up! Whisper White cardstock which is perfect for alcohol markers and just the right GSM to cut really easily (as I'm someone who doesn't like cutting!!)

I just love these little hedgehogs!

Like a Princess..

Hi! Welcome to another week!

It's wet, windy and cold here in central Scotland today and I've been busy continuing with the crafty de-clutter!  It's very rewarding to see all the things you forget you have, and to see how tastes/trends have changed over the last 11 years or so.

Taking a break from the clear out to make a quick card with a lovely Stamping Bella stamp, coloured with Copics and Polychromos.

I've kept the layout quite simple.

I'm going to enter this card in the following challenges:

Glitter N Sparkle (Use a punch/die)
Crafty Calendar (Anything Goes - April)

Now, I suppose I better get back to de-cluttering!

Brr.. It's cold, wet and windy here.  I've been having a play with another Bugaboo digi called Goth Girl.  Coloured her using Copics and Polychromos then matted up on some 7 Gypsies papers that I found (I'm trying to use up stuff I've had for ages!! - easier said than done!)

I'm going to enter her in the following "Anything Goes" challenges:
